1. Go shopping on Whyte Avenue
   Whyte Avenue is not only one of the best shopping neighbourhoods in Edmonton, but arguably in all of Canada. The historic buildings of Whyte Avenue also house the art and cultural heart of the city.
2. Check out the Old Strathcona Farmers' Market
   Every Saturday, from 8 AM to 3 PM, the Old Strathcona Farmers' Market is where you can find a plethora of grown, baked, and hand-made goods from almost 300 different vendors. The vendors rotate, so make sure you go more than once.
3. Visit the John Janzen Nature Centre
   The John Janzen Nature Centre in the Edmonton River Valley is a wonderful place to visit and learn about the local plant and animal life through interactive exhibits and engaging programs.
4. Spend a day on the 4th Street Promenade
   Another must-visit shopping district, the 4th Street Promenade is one of Edmonton's most exciting up-and-coming areas. The restaurants, shops, and hangouts offer endless dining, shopping, and entertainment opportunities.
5. Walk, Bike, or Picnic in Hawrelak Park
   Full of great cross-country skiing trails during the winter, Hawrelak Park transforms into an ideal place to walk or bike during the spring. Many ideal picnic spots also find their home here.
6. Take a tour with River Valley Adventure Co.
   The River Valley Adventure Co. offers Segway tours of the Edmonton River Valley. The scenic tours are led by a knowledgeable guide who will point out natural wonders along the way, filling you in on their history and importance.
7. Visit the Edmonton Valley Zoo
